-As CPAN Chairman Bags Pfizer Excellence Award
In recognition of their immense contributions towards the advancement of Clinical Pharmacy Practice & Education in Nigeria, Clinical Pharmacists Association of Nigeria (CPAN) has conferred on the Immediate Past President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Pharm. (Mazi) Sam Ohuabunwa and Registrar, Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) Dr N.A. E Mohammed, an award of Grand Ambassador of CPAN (GCPAN) and Special Ambassador of CPAN (SCPAN), respectively.
The award presentation took place at the CPAN Special AGM/Get-together, at the just concluded 94TH Annual National Conference of the PSN, held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
CPAN also launched its maiden edition of the Nigeria Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics at the event.
In the same vein, the National Chairman, CPAN, Dr Joseph Madu, was also celebrated at the conference, as he emerged as the winner of Pfizer Excellence Award, established by the multinational pharmaceutical company, Pfizer.
An elated Madu, who was selected for the award based on his contributions in the field of Community Pharmacy, said he dedicated the award to God Almighty, all staff and management of CEDITH Pharmaceuticals Port Harcourt.
He expressed his profound appreciation to Pfizer for the rear privilege, to be selected as the winner of the excellence award, saying it serves as a great motivation for him to do more for the profession in the areas of clinical pharmacy and community pharmacy.
Madu reiterated the mission of CPAN, which is to foster excellence in clinical pharmacy practice, research and education in the country, with the ultimate goal of ensuring provision of outstanding patient care by practitioners.
“The association was formed in response to the need to drive clinical pharmacy practice forward in Nigeria. It aims to support and encourage excellence, partnership and leadership within clinical pharmacy practice in Nigeria. It also seeks to further the profession of Pharmacy, interests of clinical pharmacists in particular and public interest in general.
“The association provides opportunities for networking, collaboration, sharing best practices and inspiring innovation. CPAN will continue to be both supportive and stimulating, offering our members the opportunity to explore, learn, innovate and flourish” he disclosed.
